Principal's Welcome

Welcome to the Cardinia Primary School website. Our school is located in the small rural township of Cardinia and has been educating local children since 1911, historically being a small school that served its small rural community.

The school has undergone significant change in recent years.  Urban development in the south-east growth corridor, in particular the rapid expansion of Pakenham and Clyde North, has seen our school grow, as many families are choosing to drive their children here for their primary education.

Our teaching and learning across the school is focussed on our students. We pride ourselves in being able to meet students at their points of need, ensuring every student receives the best possible education; academically, socially and emotionally. We have comprehensive whole school programs in English and Mathematics, ensuring our learners become critical thinkers and build deep understanding in these areas. We ensure that no child is left behind by providing intervention in the forms of Reading Recovery and Levelled Literacy Intervention. Specialist teaching areas include Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Science and Auslan (LOTE).

At Cardinia Primary we are proud of our reputation for being “A Caring Family School”. Our community supports the school to engage in many activities throughout the year, including our school picnic at Phillip Island. The school prepares a float for the Yakkerboo Parade and staff and students participate in this event in Pakenham. We have a family and friends’ day, a whole school sleepover, an art show day and a whole school camp. Our school community comes together for an end of year celebration where all grades present a concert item, and awards and certificates are presented.

I am privileged to be serving the Cardinia community as Principal of Cardinia Primary School. It is an honour to work with the dedicated staff as we continue to provide an excellent education for the children in our care.
