Whole School Events

 

Cardinia has a number of unique events in which the whole school particiaptes. This is a tradition which has developed from our small school beginnings and continues despite the growth in student numbers over recent years. In order to continue to offer these unique activities we rely on the whole school community pulling together and are thankful for the combined efforts of parents, teachers and students. 

 

Some of these events include:

  • Family and Friends Day. This event allows families to come and be a part of School for a day, participating in lessons and school experiences in a range of subject areas. It usually coincides with education Week and showcases all of the exciting and innovative programs our school provides.
  • Buddy Activities. Tabloid Sports and various Buddy activities throughout the year. Children are paired up with a Buddy from a different year level. This program fosters social skills, develops friendships and encourages students to develop leadership and co-operative skills. 

Term 1:

  • Beach Picnic at Cowes, Phillip Island, early in Term 1 each year. All families welcome to attend with brothers and sisters, grandparents and friends.
  • Easter Bonnet Parade. Last day of Term 1. Children make a special easter hat and are involved in a fun water balloon throw and easter bunny makes a visit.

Term 2:


Term 3:

  • Book Week Celebrations: Cardinia Primary gets involved in the celebration of authors, illustrators, book characters and books! We have a dress-up parade and awards.
  • Art Show: A chance for the whole school’s artwork to be displayed and shared with parents and families. The school choir and new Foundation children put on a show.
  • Buddy Show Day/Talent Quest: Students come together in teams with their buddies to put on a fun activity for all students to enjoy and participate in. 
  • Father’s Day Celebrations: Cardinia Primary staff put on a BBQ breakfast for the dad’s and students wear their sport team’s colours for some Footy-themed activities.
  • Whole School Sleepover: All students are welcomed back to school after hours to have dinner, a disco and a movie with their school friends and teachers.



Term 4:

  • Swimming Program: Students are invited to participate in a bronze swimming program run for each of the grade levels. 
  • Colour Run (fundraiser)
  • Whole School Camp: Cardinia Primary School offers students from Foundation to Grade 6 the opportunity to attend school camp annually. The camp experience is designed to build social interaction, community awareness, self confidence, problem solving, teamwork, trust, life skills and above all, have fun in a unique environment. The school camp is in Term 4 each year. We visit a variety of camps, including a farm camp, beach camp, city camp and bush camp.
  • Christmas Concert: Students perform a skit written by our very talented music teacher. Each student has their time up on stage as a performer. Various awards are presented and achievements recognised. Santa makes a visit . A very special night to celebrate with the whole community.
